B1OCK时尚概念店位于中国杭州天目⾥，聚焦国内外中⾼端及新兴设计师品牌。天目⾥由建筑⼤师伦佐·⽪亚诺担当设计，是集办公空间、艺术空间、实验剧场、时尚概念店、设计酒店、独特商业集合等多元业态为⼀体的新概念综合体。 B1OCK Concept Store is located in OōEli (Hangzhou, China), focusing on medium & high end and emerging designer brands at home and abroad. Designed by architect Renzo Piano, OōEli is a new concept complex integrating multiple business forms including office space, art space, experimental theaters, concept stores, design hotels and unique business clusters.
The space planning and props design of B1OCK are creatively developed by the famous American artist Theaster Gates and the B1OCK team to explore more possibilities of the combination of fashion and art from the perspective of functionality.

B1OCK时尚概念店的空间策划和道具设计由⻄斯特·盖茨和B1OCK团队历时三年进行创意发挥，从功用性出发对时尚和艺术结合的更多可能性进⾏探索，并尝试在本地寻找有趣的材料进行改造，让艺术以更自然的方式被公众感知。盖茨的八件艺术作品也被永久置于空间里。在B1OCK，我们希望为到访者提供“观展”与“逛街”同步的奇妙体验。 The space planning and props design of B1OCK Concept Store are creatively developed by Theaster Gates and the B1OCK team for three years to explore more possibilities of the combination of fashion and art from the perspective of functionality, and try to find interesting materials locally for transformation to make art be perceived by the public in a more natural way. Gates' eight artworks are also set up permanently in space. At B1OCK, we hope to provide visitors with a wonderful experience of "visiting exhibitions" and "shopping".

神龛 Shrine

⼿推⻋⼀直是⻄斯特·盖茨在雕塑创作中常⽤的⼯具。2013年在⾹港⽩⽴⽅画廊举办的展览《我的过去，我的转变，我的意愿》 (My Back, My Wheel and My Will) 中⾸次展出的《五⾦⼈⼒⻋》，被认为是该艺术家持续进⾏的“迁移⼈⼒⻋”系列中最早的作品之⼀。上述展览展示了艺术家在第⼗三届德国卡塞尔⽂献展所做的项⽬《胡格诺派教徒之家的12⾸⺠谣》 (12 Ballads for Huguenot House)。艺术家把芝加哥南区⼀栋将要被拆除的房屋⾥回收的建材，运往德国卡塞尔市中⼼具有悠久历史的胡格诺派宅邸，并重新组装成⼀系列装置——把两个同被弃置的空间进⾏了连接。
《五⾦⼈⼒⻋》是这些被循环使⽤的材料的永久载体：覆盖着墙纸、⽊板和钉⼦等物品的⽊材被安置在内。这个作品在很⼤程度上也是盖茨在2016年于⽶兰普拉达基⾦会展出的装置《真实的价值》(True Value) 的先例。《真实的价值》收藏了近3万件五⾦物品和⼯具，这些物件均由艺术家从芝加哥南部⼀家废弃的五⾦店中“抢救”⽽出，并用不同颜⾊精⼼编码排列。 Rickshaws are commonly used in Theaster Gates' sculpture creation. "Hardware Rickshaw" was first launched in the exhibition "My Back, My Wheel and My Will" at White Cube Hong Kong in 2013, which is considered as one of the earliest works in the Artist’ ongoing "Migration Rickshaw" series. At the above-mentioned exhibition, the Artist presented a project titled "12 Ballads for Huguenot House", which was exhibited at Documenta 13. The Artist transported materials recovered from a house to be demolished in the Southsideneighbor of Chicago to the time-honored Huguenot House located in the downtown of Kassell, Germany, and reassembled them into a series of installations - to link both abandoned spaces.

《多宝阁》是艺术家正在进⾏的⼀个系列作品，它着眼于全球劳动⼒和材料出⼝市场，意在探寻跨国贸易⾥消费者与制造商之间的关系。艺术家研究了他⽣活中所有源⾃中国的物品及那些受中国⼯艺史启发的造物⽅式，然后精⼼创作出极简解构的作品，突显艺术家在东⽅与⻄⽅⽣活经历⾥的相似性、颠覆性及更多可能性。 "China Cabinet" is an ongoing series of works aiming at global labor and material export markets, exploring the relationship between consumers and manufacturers in multi-national trade. The Artist has researched all the items originated in China in his life and ways of creation that are inspired by the history of Chinese craft, then meticulously created minimalist structures, highlighting the similarities, subversiveness and more possibilities in the Artist's oriental and occidental life.

在盖茨的多年艺术实践中，他常常从美国特定的历史时期出发，展开对种族问题的讨论，强调⾮裔美国⼈为公⺠权利⽽进⾏的⽃争，《种族暴动》（Race Riot）是他被⼈熟知的系列作品。《消防喉》由废置的消防⽔带和盖茨⼯作室的⽊柜制成，诉说了美国阿拉巴⻢州伯明翰⺠权运动期间⾮裔美国⼈所经历的可怕创伤，当时的消防⽔带被⽤来对付和平抗议者。艺术家希望利⽤当代实践的平台来突出世界各地的⿊⼈在他们所在的社会群体中所遭受的不公正待遇。 In Gates' artistic practices for many years, he often discusses about racial issues by starting from the specific historical period of America, emphasizes that African-Americans are fighting for civil rights. "Race Riot" is a well-known series of his works. Made from abandoned fire hoses and wooden cabinets in Gates' studio, "Fire Hose" tells the horrible trauma experienced by African-Americans during the Civil Rights Movement in Birmingham, Alabama, when fire hoses were used on peaceful protestors. The Artist hopes to use the platform for contemporary practices to highlight the unfair treatment undergone by the black around world in their social community.

这里，不仅是居家者的休憩之地，还是创作者的灵感天堂。 -1F mainly focuses on home and lifestyle, brining inspiration and enlightenment to fashion icons in pursuit of life quality. A bottle of essential oil which making SPA more joyful, and a can of body lotion which reactivating people immediately, are traces of our good life.

LITTLE STRANGER LITTLE STRANGER

一层为开放式展示空间。集合 Mock-up Space、大型艺术装置、演讲与交流等时尚艺术形态的空间。设计的灵感来自Theaster Gates的作品 < Listening Studio >，他将旧的柜子改造后重新利用，设计为小而别致的展示单元，新旧元素相互碰撞，不为空间设界限，加之音乐所传递的讯息，这里是认知B1OCK的形象入口。 1F will be an open display space with large art installations, and will also integrate Mock-up space, speech and communication space, etc. The space design is inspired by Theaster Gates' works "Listening Studio". He has rebuilt old cabinets and designed them into small but unique exhibition units. Here, old and new elements collide with each other and the space has no limit. With messages conveyed through music, here will become the iconic entrance for people to understand the whole fashion boutique.

FINE FEMME FINE FEMME

二层主营经典男女装设计师品牌，整体形象偏向职业、成熟、质感。
Theaster Gates 从 Axel Vervoordt 茶室的设计作品中吸取艺术灵感，安静、惬意、充满东方意味的饮茶室将成为2F 的空间氛围基调。不去过度修饰的木材保留了原本的质感，在空间中以不同形式出现，结合墙面艺术装置，以及优雅且奉行极简主义的衣架展示系统，构成放松、自然的空间语境。 2F mainly focuses on classic designer brands for both man and woman clothing. The whole merchandise image is partial to profession, maturity and sense of quality.
Theaster Gates draws artistic inspiration from the design works of the Axel Vervoordt Teahouse. Tranquil and cozy teahouse of an oriental flavor will set the atmosphere for 2F. Wood that is not over-decorated retains its original texture and appears in the space in different forms. Together with wall art installations, elegant and minimalist hanger display systems, a relaxed and natural spatial context is created.

HITHER PLEASE HITHER PLEASE

三层主营当代男女装设计师品牌，整体货品形象偏向年轻、先锋、趣味化。板岩、木头、金属是 Theaster Gates 在 3F 设计中选用的三种主要材料语言，灵感来源于它的艺术作品。艺术家把在建筑外墙更常⻅的板岩引入到室内大面积使用，自然的光线与强烈的材质肌理互动，在室内重现室外的光影意向，通过某种内在的意境与陈列其中的经典女装达成了呼应。 3F mainly focuses on contemporary men and women designer brands. The whole merchandise image is partial to youth, cutting edge and fun. Slate, wood and metal are three main material languages that Theaster Gates chooses in the design for 3F, inspired by his artwork. The Artist introduces slate, which is more common for the outer wall of buildings, into the indoor area for large-scale application. Natural light interacts with apparent material texture to reproduce outdoor light and shadow intentions indoor, which matches with the exhibited classic women clothing in some intrinsic context.

RUDE BOY RUDE BOY

四层主营 HIGH STREET 品牌，以街头和年轻状态呈现。陈列及道具方面都将增加动线的引导。 Theaster Gates 在该楼层将大量运用金属与玻璃等材质，大块面的玻璃甚或是优雅曲线状的金属，对空间进行有节奏的区隔，尤其是带有金属边框的玻璃面，把空间切割成更丰富的多面体，为经典男装空间打造通透、干净、开放的视觉感。 4F mainly focuses on HIGH STREET brands. The whole merchandise image is partial to streets and youth. Travel lines are provided to display and props for guidance. Theaster Gates will use a large amount of metal and glass on this floor. Large glass or even elegantly curved metal can rhythmically separate the space. Especially that glass with a metal frame can divide the space into richer polyhedrons, thus creating a thorough, clean and open vision for the classic men’s wear space.

THRIFT STORE JUNKY THRIFT STORE JUNKY

五层主营中国设计师品牌，与Labelhood进行战略合作。整体货品形象偏向机能、unisex。
为更好地呼应货品形象，Theaster Gates将他的作品 < hardware store> 在现场经典重现，空间材料也以混凝土作为最主要的选择，传达厚重的稳定感，在陈列上重视多种功能的实现以及耐用，将艺术作品的灵感融入到空间设计之中。 5F mainly focuses on Chinese designer brands, in strategic cooperation with Labelhood. The whole merchandise image is partial to functionality and unisex.
To better respond to the merchandise image, Theaster Gates reproduces his works "Hardware Store" here. The space also uses concrete as the main material, conveying a strong sense of stability. He also pays attention to multiple functions as well as durability for display and incorporates the inspiration of the artwork into the space design.

6 F

THE ARCHIVE THE ARCHIVE

六层是与D&DEPARTMENT合作的策展式零售空间，主打家居用品、生活美学，每期根据主题精选呈现不同国家的经典设计商品。
在这一层，Theaster Gates带来了一个不断突破想象力边界的空间，他选用纸、织物、纤维、毛毡等材料，大胆进行各种尝试:轻盈的纸，光与⻛，不同织物色彩的相撞，不循常理的组合，为空间铺垫了故事发生的可能；包括单独设置的休息区，同样充斥着艺术灵感。没有指引的动线与有趣的空间设计也增加了购物的自由度。 6F is a curatorial retail space in cooperation with D&DEPARTMENT, focusing on household supplies and life aesthetics. Classic design commodities from different countries will be presented for each period according to the theme.
On this floor, Theaster Gates will bring a space that constantly breaks through the boundaries of imagination. He uses paper fabric, fiber, felt and other materials to make bold attempts: lightsome paper, light and wind, the contrast of colors for different fabrics, and unusual combinations have paved the possibility for different stories. Even the separate seating area is also filled with artistic inspiration. With no travel lines for guidance, funny space design enhances the freedom for shopping.

THE GALLERY THE GALLERY

七层的艺廊是艺术的发生器，不定期举办展览，文化跨界活动。

Theaster Gates希望通过人造光创造一处仿佛有自然光穿透的采光筒，宣示一种特别的场域。此外，艺术家运用木材以及陶土作为场景主材料，以此打造更为有序、优雅的空间。 7F is a generator for art, where exhibitions will be organized on a irregular basis, with more multi-cultural activities to be carried out here.
Theaster Gates hopes to create a lighting tube with natural light seemingly through by using artificial light, thus to show a special site. In addition, the Artist will use wood and clay as the main materials for the space. The local red or black bricks in Hangzhou will also be selected as the material. The space thus created will be presented in a more orderly and elegant appearance.

THE VIEW THE VIEW

八层为空中花园与餐厅。FINE CAFE & CANTEEN 与空间中的绿植地带融合，生成一段美好的用餐体验。整层的绿色植物被咖啡的香气环绕，复古清新的装修风格营造出轻松氛围与日式质感。 The hanging gardens and the restaurant are on 8F. With the smell of coffee spreading to green plants on the whole floor, it is a space incorporating coffee and green plants. The sunlight room is on the north, covered with tropical plants. The balcony is a garden with different scenes during four seasons. Both hanging gardens are of 90 square meters, presenting the natural vitality and vigor of plants.

B1OCK LAB B1OCK LAB

九层作为品牌和产品的延伸空间，将持续探索与顾客的互动模式。B1OCK Lab 兼备产品加工与创意开发，是一间新型复合型工坊。定制化加工包含产品定制、印花、刺绣等。而创意开发,旨在扩大个人创造的可能性, 展开实验性的企划。 9F is the space extended for brands and products, which keeps exploring the way to interact with customers. As a compound workshop combining product processing and creative development, the customized processing of B1OCK Lab includes product customization, printing and embroidery, etc. However, creative development is an experimental program, aiming to extend possibilities for individual creation. Through the printer, cutter and other machine tools that are provided, customers interested in machinery and product development may have access to digital manufacturing technologies.
